A Sombre New Year's Eve

Today, stayed at home to look after my mom. Had fishball vermicilli for lunch and it was yucky. As for my dinner, I ate porridge with lots of vegetables.

In light of the tsunami disaster, Singapore government decided to celebrate new year's eve in a more sombre mood. No fireworks will be displayed this year.

Went to Junction 8

Set off to go Junction 8 at Bishan at about noon with my mom and sis. Realised that there are more shops than before. Maybe it's due to the extension that the management had built recently.

However, the food court has limited variety of food (Not again... it's Food Junction!). Actually wanted to have korean food but had beef noodle and tau huay for lunch instead.

We bought SKII mask at the Sasa shop. Haven't tried it out today.... Maybe will try on New Year's day eve or the day before. Heard from one forum that the effects are good. Can't wait to look at the results on my face! HaHa

Someone back from Japan

Played MSN games with Christian online till 3a.m yesterday night. As a result, I woke up a bit later than usual. After brushing my teeth, I recalled that my boyfriend will be coming back from Japan today, reaching Changi Airport at about 10.35p.m.

I drank a cup of coffee for breakfast while reading the newspapers. I was saddened by the number of deaths caused by the earthquake yesterday. The tsunamis were merciless. According to the latest news, about 20000 of people feared dead and millions homeless.

In the afternoon, helped my sister to file her notes. We joked with each other while punching and sorting the notes. Meanwhile, we keep ourselves updated with the news of the earthquake by watching "ChannelNewsAsia".

Eaten fish head bee-hoon, which was prepared by my mom, for dinner. It was quite delicious :) and I was very full after the dinner.

At night, the wind was strong... and finally... close to 12a.m.... my bf called from home!

At Home during Boxing Day

It was a bit cloudy and peaceful this morning. Didn't realise that there was a 8.9-magnitude earthquake over at Indonesia then until this evening. It was the most powerful earthquake in 40 years which triggered massive tidal waves that slammed into coastlines across Asia, killing more than 5,600 people in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia.

Even though light tremors were felt in certain parts of Singapore, I still feel fortunate that I'm living in Singapore, a country that is well-protected from natural disasters due to its strategic geographical location.

I spent the whole afternoon improving the layout of my blog page today. I've learnt how to add a tag-board, a hit-counter, a small flash animation and a sound file by using html codes. Not very nice but satisfactory. :)

In the evening, I was watching Affairs of the Heart Charity show with my family. Felt that the Singapore idol, Taufik, and the runner-up, Sylvester were cute and funny when they were trying to kneel down with the other 8 artistes so that Jeff Wang could jump over them. They knelt down as low as they could. Haha...:)

Here are some of the shots of the Charity Show:

Going to Grandfather's house

Merry Christmas!!!

It's a sunny morning. Played Msn game with my sis. I seem to have bad luck these few days. *sigh* Later in the afternoon, I'll be going to my grandfather's house. Don't know what I'll be doing there but I know there will be things to munch.

Feel like inviting my sis to write a blog in this website. However, she was relunctant and just a few moments ago, she grumbled that I'm a slow coach.

Well... time to pen down cos I'm going to get prepared to go to my Grandfather's house.

An Encounter met during X'mas Eve

Dec 24 was Christmas Eve. I went to Orchard with my mom and sis in the afternoon. After our lunch, we went to Takashimaya to shop. We were happily looking at the accessories at level one but suddenly, my sis pulled a stranger's haversack and shouted loudly, "You've stolen something!!!"

My mom and I were shocked. My sister's face was red with anger. I was stunned by my sister's daring act because my sis is usually quite demure and blur. Only when I saw my pink pouch, which was handed frantically by the stranger to my sis, I realised that I met a pickpocket. The young teenager in his black shirt fled away with his accomplice. My sister was rooted to the ground, her heart thumping away. She was now feeling nervous.

I was glad that I had my pink pouch back and most importantly, my newly bought Samsung handphone with VGA camera was not lost with the pink pouch. From today onwards, I think I will never bring my brown tote bag which is without a zip (contained my pink pouch). Furthermore, I will be more alert and take good care of my belongings.

Thanks to my sis!!! My heroine! :)
